Follow these instructions to set up your Roomba Combo® 10 Max, and AutoWash™ Dock.

Step 1: Position the Dock

  • Position your dock on hard surface flooring, near an outlet, in an area with good Wi-Fi coverage
  • Ensure the area around the dock is free of clutter to improve docking performance

WARNING: To prevent the risk of your robot falling downstairs, ensure that your dock is placed at least 4 feet (1.2 meters) away from stairs.

Step 2: Plug in the Dock

  • Plug the power cord into the dock, then into the wall
  • Wrap the cord back so it won't get in the way of the robot as it comes and goes

Step 3: Install the Dock Ramp

  • Install the removable ramp by aligning it with the dock
  • Press down to snap it into place

Step 4: Install the Pad Washing Roller

  • Remove the stickers from the Pad Washing Filter
  • Install the Pad Washing Roller from left to right by aligning the roller peg into place

Step 5: Wake up the Robot

    • Place your robot on the dock with the camera facing out
    • Make sure the metal charging contacts are lined up, and the wheels are placed over the wheel switches
    • The charging LED indicator on the dock will briefly illuminate when the robot is docked correctly. If the light ring is swirling white, the robot is not ready and is still waking up. After two minutes, your robot will chime when ready and display a solid or slowly filling white ring around its button.

NOTE: Your robot comes with a partial charge to create a map. After mapping, we recommend that you charge the robot for 3 hours prior to starting the first cleaning job.

Step 6: Download and connect to the iRobot® HOME App

The app will walk you through connecting Roomba® to your home network. When successfully connected, you will hear the phrase "You are now connected to Roomba®". Roomba® is now set up and accessible via the iRobot® HOME App.

Once connected, your robot will ensure it has the latest firmware. This may take a few minutes.

If you require additional support during the iRobot® HOME App setup process, refer to the Wi-Fi Setup Process.

Step 7: Create a Smart Map

Follow the steps in the app and pick up objects before sending Roomba on a Mapping Run. During the Mapping Run, Roomba® will navigate through your home without cleaning. Since the robot will not be using its vacuum motor, it can use less battery power and thus cover more area on a single battery charge. This will allow Roomba to create a map of your home as quickly as possible. Imprint™ Smart Mapping Technology allows your robot vacuum to learn and map your home, adapting to your needs. After just one run, you can customize the map by creating rooms and zones so that you can tell your robot to clean or avoid specific areas. Smart Maps give you more control over your robot's cleaning process, fitting your lifestyle.

IMPORTANT: PrecisionVision™ on the Roomba Combo® 10 Max is inactive during a training/mapping run. The floor should be clear of pet waste or cables, as the robot will not actively detect or avoid these obstacles
    during a training/mapping run.

If you already have a map saved, the app will ask if you'd like to copy this existing map over to your new Roomba.

Once you have a map created, the app will continue to walk you through setting up your robot for mopping.

Step 8: Prepare the Clean and Dirty Tanks

    • Remove both tanks from the dock

    • Fill the Clean Tank (left) with water or a compatible cleaning solution

    • Both the Clean Tank and Dirty Tank are hipped unlatched
    • You must latch both tanks before initial use

    • Reinstall the tanks

IMPORTANT: Ensure the latch is properly closed on the tank before reinstalling.

IMPORTANT: Only certain cleaning solutions can be safely used with your robot. A full list of compatible cleaning solutions can be found here. Please do not use other cleaning solutions or bleach-based products.

Step 9: Ready to Vacuum and Mop!

Run the robot and let it learn! To start a cleaning job, you may simply press the "New Job +button in the iRobot® HOME app, or press the CLEAN button on the robot itself.

    • To pause your robot during a cleaning job, press CLEAN on the robot itself or press PAUSE in the iRobot® HOME App.
    • To then send your robot back to the Dock, press CLEAN on the robot, or press PAUSE -> SEND HOME in the iRobot® HOME App and then follow the instructions to end the cleaning job.
    • If the battery gets low before completing a cleaning job, your robot will return to the Dock to recharge. (provided your robot was on the Dock when you pressed CLEAN).
