Article Details

For optimal performance, please perform these care procedures to keep the following items regularly cleaned.

Bin

Ensure proper insertion of the bin each time, as Roomba will not run without it.

Brushes

  1. Remove brush guard by lifting both yellow tabs.

  2. Remove and clean the two brushes and brush bearings.

  3. Use the included cleaning tool to remove hair easily from the bristle brush by pulling it over the brush.

Charging Contacts

Please check if there has been any build-up of debris or dirt on the charging contacts of the Home Base® and the robot. Unplug the base and wait 60 seconds. Then use a clean lightly dampened melamine foam, such as a Magic Eraser to remove debris from the charging contacts. The contacts should have a visible shine.

Cliff Sensors

Simply wipe all six cliff sensor openings with a clean, dry microfiber or soft cotton cloth.

Filters

Remove the filter and shake off debris by tapping the filter against your trash container as needed.

Note: Do not expose the filters to water. This can cause damage to your robot and will void your warranty.

Front Caster Wheel

Front caster wheels that are clogged with hair and debris could result in floor damage. Use the following procedure to maintain the front caster wheel.

  1. Pull firmly on the front wheel to remove it.

  2. Remove any debris from inside the wheel cavity.

  3. Remove the wheel from its housing and wipe clean. Pull firmly to remove the axle and clear any debris or hair wrapped around it.

  4. Reinstall all parts when finished. Make sure the wheel clicks right back into place.

Full Bin Sensors

Remove the bin and wipe the two optical bin sensors with a clean, dry microfiber or soft cotton cloth.

Models 770 and above.

Side Brush

To clean the side brush, use a small Phillips screwdriver to remove the screw from the center. Remove the brush, clean, reinstall.
