“Quite Drive” is a permanent feature added to the Roomba s9 software in 2021 in order for the robot to save power, clean longer, and result in a quieter overall experience.
On Directed Room Cleaning Missions, the robot won't vacuum anything but the space it was told to. The Dual Multi-Surface Rubber Brushes won't spin as it's traveling to the designated area and when it's on its way back to the dock. However, the Corner Brush will continue spinning.
Note: This permanent feature cannot be changed or disabled. If you wish to avoid this experience, Quiet Drive will not occur on Clean All missions. The s9 only drives quietly when traveling to a directed room.
